Volunteers are the heart and soul of the American Red Cross. More than one million Americans volunteer to serving their community through the Red Cross each year – keeping the blood supply strong, helping people in emergencies and teaching first aid and CPR courses.
Free training is provided for all volunteer opportunities.
Blood Service Volunteer
Use your customer service skills by:
- Greeting and welcomimg valued blood donors
- Managing the donor schedule
- Ensuring that donors are prepared for a great donation experience
- Providing hospitality and monitoring donors after their donation
- Promoting specialized donor opportunties
Volunteer should enjoy working in a socially focused, team environment where the pace and type of assignments vary.
Transportation Specialist
- Transport blood products from local collection sites to our headquarters if Philadelphia and/or:
- Transport volunteer to local blood collection sites
Volunteer should enjoy working independently. Dependability and puntuality are key factors.
Administrative Volunteer
Work in your local Red Cross office to assist with adminstrative responsibilities such as:
- Coordinating bloodmobile schedules
- Maintaining accurate records
- Data entry and more
Volunteer should be friendly, customer focused and detail orientated.
Community Outreach Specialist
- Represent the American Red Cross at local outreach opportunities and fairs
- Educate your community about the importance of donating blood
Volunteer should enjoy working with the public and have an understanding of the American Red Cross blood donation process.
